LIPNICKI TO LAUNCH NEXT PHASE OF HIS CAREER AT AFM
Nov 12, 2008
Hollywood, California.
Former child star Jonathan Lipnicki, who burst onto the scene 12 years ago as
Ray Boyd opposite Tom Cruise and Renee Zelwegger in Cameron Crowes JERRY
MAGUIRE, is gearing up for the next phase of his career, pitching his
new project THE OTHER SIDE OF INNOCENCE at AFM. Rhonda Lipnicki and Devorah Cutler, and their
company Dev-O-Ron Pictures are producing the project; Cutler is also attached
to direct.
In the vein of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, the
smart, edgy psychological thriller, THE OTHER SIDE OF INNOCENCE, is
intended to be the first in a trilogy exploring the roots of violence and its
lasting legacy. The screenplay, written
by Robert Redlin (AFTER DARK, MY SWEET) deals with the dangerous romance between
a psychologically damaged young man and the unhappy daughter of the towns
chief detective, set against the backdrop of a local serial killer who is
targeting teenage girls.
Lipnicki also had starring stints in STUART
LITTLE 2, the indie favorite WHEN ZACHARY BEAVER CAME TO TOWN and
THE
LITTLE VAMPIRE, as well as the sci-fi series MEEGO, opposite Ed
Begley, Jr and Bronson Pinchot.
Presently a senior at Agoura High School, he is an avid child and animal
rights activist, and is a proud member of the Variety Power of Youth Advisory
Committee. Lipnicki spoke at a U.S,
Senate Subcommittee Hearing in support of stem cell research at the behest of
the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. He
will be appearing on both Extra and Good Morning America this month.
Producers Rhonda Lipnicki and Devorah
Cutler have a combined 30 years of entertainment experience, having
participated in every creative and business aspect of the motion picture and
television development, production and distribution. Cutler
made a splash as an award-winning theatre director in the LA scene as well as
launching the feature franchise, exec producing, THE SUBSTITUTE, starring
Tom Berenger. She made her film directing debut with Showtimes
critically acclaimed featurette PEACOCK BLUES, starring Poppy
Montgomery and William Forsythe. She also
directed the award winning documentary NOT AFRAID TO LAUGH, as well as the narrative
sequences for the multi part PBS documentary TELL ABOUT THE SOUTH.
