Prepare
for Lift Off: Third Elevate Film Festival Kicks Off December 8th
Los Angeles, CA. November 26, 2006 - - “When
I heard the tagline for the Elevate Film and Music Festival, ‘Lifting
consciousness 48 hours at a time’™ I couldn’t wait to meet one of its
creators, Mikki Willis” said Colleen Cackowski, CEO and Founder of Dragonfly
Now, producer of CELEBRATION OF ONENESS. The third Elevate Film Festival will take
place as part of the CELEBRATION OF ONENESS, a
two-day multi-media event that will take place at the Pasadena Convention
Center and Civic Auditorium on December 9th and 10th. The event is designed to inspire people to
consider oneness with their body, mind, spirit, environment, community and
globe. For people who consider their
consciousness and happiness a priority, they will love the event and this
wondrous film festival.
The Elevate Film and Music Festival is a
reflection of Mikki, a very uplifting and loving soul who also happens to be a
brilliant photographer, director and producer.
One of his missions is to challenge international filmmakers to make
films that will make a difference, and that get the word out about
organizations and individuals who are having a positive impact on our world.
At 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8th, Mikki
Willis will put uplifting or inspiring subject matters in a hat. Nine
professional filmmakers will pick subjects randomly from the hat, and have 48
hours to deliver their completed short films (11 minute maximum length) or music
videos (4 minute maximum length).
After a two-day countdown, while filmmakers
scurry around Los Angeles, shooting and editing their films in guerilla style,
at 4:00 p.m. on December 10th, three thousand people will gather to be lifted
up and out of their seats at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium for the screening of
all nine films and music videos.
It’s not often that
film festivals come to the San Gabriel Valley, let alone one whose intention is
to have its audience feel good! If you
are in the mood for happy, if you are up to supporting filmmakers who are up to
making a difference in the world, and celebrating others doing the same, then this is the Film
Festival for you.
