THE METHOD FEST TO ANNOUNCE FILM SELECTIONS FEB. 28

The film lineup for the 10th annual The Method Fest independent
film festival will be announced in a Sneak Preview Party, Thursday, February
28, at Pierce College’s Performing Arts Center (Main Stage Theater) beginning
at 7 pm, festival organizers announced today.
Local filmmakers and star actors from the selected films will attend the
event. A total of 27 feature films and
50 shorts will be selected to play in the festival, slated for March 27 – April
3 in Calabasas.
<>Named after a famous school of acting, The Method Fest is
the only major film festival in the U.S. focusing on acting, celebrating breakout acting performances in
story driven independent films. The Method Fest takes great pride in being a
discovery festival, looking to help launch the works of young fresh filmmakers
and to discover breakthrough performances by young, bold new actors. In only
nine years, more than 100 feature films that have played / premiered at The
Method Fest have gained theatrical release and/or TV and home video
distribution.

Films submitted to
the Method Fest this year by American filmmakers came from 36 states – many
from strong film centers like California and New York, but also
from Kansas, Utah, Alabama, Georgia, Vermont, and Virginia. From abroad, films came
from Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, France, Germany, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Spain, South Korea, and Russia. A large number of entries are student projects from prestigious
film schools like USC, UCLA, The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Florida State, Columbia University, and the American Film Institute.
