Nov 16, 2007
Orestes
Matacena, actor-writer-director-producer, and Orna Rachovitsky, actress-producer,
produced feature film in Los
Angeles now almost ready for
its Hollywood premiere.
Orestes
(starred as Niko in “The Mask” with Jim Carrey, and Victor Corsini in
“Diggstown” with James Woods and Lou Gossett, Jr.) wrote a full outline of
thirteen episodes (known as the bible) along with the pilot episode. With a
small window to work with selected actors shooting commenced within a few
weeks.
Actor
Rene Lavan, winner of the Silver Condor Award, stars as the lead detective, Roberto
Turilli. Rene debuted on Broadway in 2005 with the critically acclaimed play
"Latinologues," worked with Benicio del Toro in Steven Soderbergh’s
“Guerrilla,” and starred opposite Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dan Aykroyd and
Cheech Marin in Joe Roth’s "Christmas With the Kranks."
Ruth
Livier stars as lead detective Yeni Martinez. Ruth, an ALMA
award recipient, was a series regular on Showtime’s groundbreaking drama "Resurrection Blvd," worked in “Ranchero” opposite "Spy
Kid’s" Danny Trejo, starred opposite Tom Sizemore, Richard T. Jones &
Heather Locklear in Joseph Merhi’s “Oranges.”
Ruben
Rabasa stars as the Police Chief, Ruben Semper. Ruben is a Hispanic household
name who starred as a comedian for eight years on one of the longest running
variety shows in the history of television, Don Francisco’s “Sabado Gigante,”
starred as Papi in Nickelodeon’s sitcom “Taina,” and worked in Andy Garcia’s
“The Lost City.”
The
film is in the final stages of post-production, with six-time Emmy award winner
re-recording mixer Dean Okrand and Grammy-nominated Mixer/Producer Vincenzo
LoRusso completing the final sound mix of the movie.
El
Ratoncito Miguel Productions formed to create the film “In Plain View.” The
Producers have created other projects including a feature called “Sex Guns
Money @20,” two documentaries in production, “Aguabella” documenting the great
Cuban born conga and bata legend Francisco Aguabella and “James Gilbert
Albright and the Haunted Studios” which tells the story of
dancer-choreographer-writer James Gilbert Albright and his legendary
costume/wardrobe studio in NoHo.
