“STUCK” MAKES AMERICAN FILM MARKET DEBUT
Oct 30, 2007
ABOUT THE FILM: The inspiration for the
critically-acclaimed Stuck began with a newspaper article discovered by
director Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, From Beyond, Dragon) that detailed a
true crime committed in 2001 by a retirement home worker in Ft. Worth, Texas who
struck a man with her car while under the influence and, in a panic, left him
stuck in the windshield in her garage for days.
In Stuck, two
unlikely opponents are thrown together in a macabre set of circumstances.
Suvari portrays hardworking Brandi who, after partying at a night club, hits a
homeless man Tom (Rea). Smashed head first into the windshield, shards of glass
hold Tom fast as Brandi, panicked, accelerates home. With her car parked safely
out of sight in her garage, Brandi makes a snap decision—without witnesses to
the event, she decides to let her severely injured victim die in her garage.
Meanwhile, passing in and out of consciousness, Tom begins to realize the true
horror of his absurd fate—unless there is a way he can find the strength to
extract his battered body from the car.
Stuck explores the human
psyche as captor and captive are pitted against each other in a tormented battle
which will irrevocably transform the hopes and dreams for them
both.
