Leonardo DiCaprio’s Environmental
Documentary “The 11th Hour”
Cornerstone of Green Film Fest
Santa
Monica, California (July 26, 2007) – In an advanced screening, Leonardo
DiCaprio's environmental documentary The 11th Hour in Los Angeles
theaters August 17th, will showcase for a local audience at the
2007 Santa Monica International Film Festival. Admission is free to this
special event taking place on Sunday, August 5th at 3:00 PM in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium at the beautiful
Santa Monica Main Library.

screening is an important part of the green focused film festival as it
makes its way back to the city of Santa Monica, August 3-6th. The Santa Monica International Film
Festival is a competition festival screening
documentary and short films from around the world. Additional events include an Opening Night party at Bergamot Station and
Closing Night Awards party at Ma’Kai Lounge. A free screenplay writing
seminar sponsored by Santa
Monica’s own Writers
Boot Camp will also be presented on Sunday, at 1:00 PM.

The
11th Hour describes the last
moment when change is possible. The film explores how humanity has
arrived at this moment – how we live, how we impact the earth’s ecosystems, and
what we can do to change our course. The film features dialogues with
experts from all over the world, including former Soviet Prime Minister Mikhail
Gorbachev, renowned scientist Stephen Hawking, former head of the CIA R. James
Woolsey and sustainable design experts William McDonough and Bruce Mau in
addition to over 50 leading scientists, thinkers and leaders who present the
facts and discuss the most important issues that face our planet.
