Filmmakers Alliance FREE Seminar in July
Return to: List of Industry Events Jul 01, 2007
An Evening With Suzanne Lyons
If you are thinking (or even entertaining
thoughts) about making your
low budget film, you need to attend this
seminar! Suzanne Lyons will
give an overview of the entire process from
A-Z, giving detailed and
practical information. Starting with optioning the
script and ending
with delivering your film…and touching upon everything in
between,
Suzanne will go over each step that occurs in the process of
making an
independent film, which she covers in great detail in her 2
month
intensive workshop. She will discuss starting your LLC, what makes up
a
great business plan and how to do a fantastic sales presentation.
She'll get into the casting process, soft prep, preproduction and
production. She'll talk about what kind of a deal you can do with your
sales agent and she will prepare you for delivery. Suzanne will even go
through (and give you a copy of) a detailed timeline that will cover
every aspect of SÉANCE, one of the SAG ultra low budget films she shot
last year.
SUZANNE LYONS has over 25 years experience in television
and film. She
was VP of Marketing and Promotions for a Canadian network and

directed
news and series programming and has won numerous awards for her

Suzanne moved to Philadelphia with her husband in the late 80's
and
worked in sales and distribution selling both film and television
internationally.
Suzanne then established herself in Los Angeles in
the early 90's and

They have led
hundreds of seminars to thousands of participants in both the
US and
Canada. Suzanne has guest lectured at UCLA, USC, The American Film
Institute, The Writers Guild, The Directors Guild, SAG, Women In Film
in Los Angeles and Canada and at the Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences.
In the late 90's Suzanne co-founded Snowfall Films, Inc
along with film
partner Kate Robbins, specializing in International
Co-production. In
2005 they founded a genre division, WindChill Films. In
the past six
years they have produced or executive produced eight movies.
Snowfall
Films is producing Michael Elias' (THE JERK) A DEAD MAN IN
DEPTFORD
with Michael Pitt attached as the lead. They begin preproduction
in
Northern Ireland this fall.
Suzanne has just partnered with The
Grove Group to produce a family
film, TIME TOYS written by writer/director
Mark Rosman (THE CINDERELLA
STORY).
Suzanne has worked with
wonderful talent over the years; Brenda
Blethyn, Christopher Walken, Alfred
Molina, Naomi Watts, James Caan,

Tilly, Jon Lovitz, Dean Cain,

Paul.
